Air Freight to China

Our airfreight to China is a daily service from all major UK airports. Nationwide next-day collection, or even same day when delivery to China is extremely time critical.

We offer both door-to-airport and door-to-door airfreight and handle all types of air cargo including dangerous goods and household or personal effects. With our door-to-door air freight service we will handle customs clearance in China and deliver your freight directly to the recipient.

All air freight is subject to security screening. Our network of customs approved screening depots at major airports mean we can get your air cargo on board an aircraft quickly – meaning quicker delivery.

We provide comprehensive transit insurance to protect your goods during air freight and can arrange freight storage in the UK or China.

For air freight shipments consisting of more than one or two boxes we recommend goods are sent on a pallet to China. This ensures that all items travel together and keeps customs clearance time to a minimum when your freight arrives in China. If you are not able to air freight your goods on a pallet then our expert packing team can do this for you when goods are received at our depot.

Sea Freight to China

Our sea freight to China service offers weekly departures and a choice of either part-load or full container options.

For part load sea freight we can collect your freight directly from your premises with our nationwide next-day collection service. Alternatively, deliver your freight directly to one of our receiving depots throughout the UK. For part load sea freight, goods should be packed onto wooden pallets or into plywood shipping cases. For loose shipments we offer a full palletising service, either at your depot or at our receiving warehouse prior to shipment.

For full load container freight to China, we will generally deliver an empty shipping container to your premises for you to pack and load. If this is not possible then we can receive goods at our warehouse and load into a container on your behalf.

We offer a choice of door-to-port or door-to-door options for all sea freight shipments. For door-to-door shipments we will handle all aspects of customs clearance and deliver your freight directly to the recipient in China. For door-to-port shipments, your consignee will be responsible for local customs and collection of freight from the port.

We can arrange comprehensive marine transit insurance to protect against all risks during transit and offer storage both in UK and in China.

Freight Cost from UK to China

Freight costs to China will depend on the size and weight of the consignment and the choice between airfreight and sea freight. For small shipments which do not fill a whole pallet airfreight will often work out cheaper – particularly if  sending freight on a door-to-door basis. For larger shipments, sea freight is better value at the expense of a longer transit time. For very large shipments a full shipping container may prove best value.

To enable us to accurately calculate your freight cost to China, we will need to know the length, width, height and weight of each item being shipped. If  goods are  being sent on pallets or in cases then the measurements of these should be supplied.

If you do not have exact dimensions and weights then we can provide an estimated freight cost to China which we will adjust when exact specifications are known.

Freight Time from UK to China

The freight time to China depends on whether goods are being sent by air freight or sea freight.

Goods sent air freight to China will take around 1 – 2 days with daily departures from major UK airports.

Sea freight to China takes around 4 weeks for goods sent in a dedicated shipping container. Part load freight to China takes around 5 – 6 weeks depending upon exact sea freight timetable. Part load transit times are not guaranteed in advance so we recommend you check our freight schedule when booking – particularly if delivery time in China is critical to your freight.

Like most destinations, freight to China is subject to customs inspection and clearance. The exact time taken for freight delivery in China will always depend upon the time taken at customs. As a general rule customs clearance for air freight to China will be completed within 1 to 2 days. For sea freight customs clearance would usually be complete within a week.
